Cleaning Tulsa’s Finest Since 1921: The DeHoney’s Story
DeHoney’s Dry Cleaners is a Tulsa dry cleaner, cleaning Tulsa’s finest since 1921. That is not a slogan we adopted recently — it is the story of who we are. For more than a century, through every change Tulsa has seen, DeHoney’s has been here, caring for the garments this city wears to work, to worship, to weddings, and to every occasion that matters.
This is the story of that century: what has changed, what has not, and why the same name still means the same standard of care.
A Tulsa story that began in 1921
DeHoney’s opened its doors in 1921, when Tulsa was still a young, fast-growing city. From the beginning, the business was built on a simple idea: treat every garment as if it belonged to someone you know, and do the work properly. That idea carried the company through decades of change — new fabrics, new fashions, new neighborhoods — and it is why the name is still here when so many others are not.
Over the years, DeHoney’s became part of the fabric of Tulsa life. Generations of families have brought their clothes to us: parents who came as young professionals, then their children, then their grandchildren. That kind of trust is not bought. It is earned, one garment at a time, over a very long time.
What has not changed: craft and care
The heart of the work has not changed at all. We still clean and finish garments in our own Tulsa plant, controlling the process from start to finish rather than sending work away. We still believe in careful inspection, in hand finishing where a garment deserves it, and in pressing that respects the fabric and the shape of the piece. We still take the time to get a detail right rather than rush it out the door.
Our cleaning itself reflects the same care in a modern form. We use odorless, no-perc cleaning solutions and do not use perchloroethylene — a gentler approach for fabrics and for the people who wear them. The tools have improved over a century; the standard has not lowered.
What has changed: convenience for modern Tulsa
What has changed is how easy we have made it to use us. Tulsa is a bigger, busier city than it was in 1921, and our customers’ lives are fuller. So today, alongside our Harvard Avenue store, we offer free pickup and delivery twice a week across the Tulsa metro — Owasso, Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, and Bixby — with no delivery fee and no invoice minimum. Route customers need not be home: garments are collected from an agreed spot and returned there, cleaned and finished.
Signing up is simple, and our route team brings the same personal service to your door that you would receive at the counter. Convenience has changed; the care inside the bag has not.
The same Harvard Avenue home
Through it all, our home has remained 1427 S Harvard Ave, Tulsa, OK 74112. The Harvard Avenue store is also home to our sister brand, WaterStone Cleaners — the same company, cleaned in the same Tulsa plant, by the same people. Whether you know us as DeHoney’s or WaterStone, you are trusting the same century-old standard.
We are open Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM, and closed Saturday and Sunday. Walk in with a garment, and you will meet people who take pride in a job done properly — because that is what has kept this business going since 1921.
What comes next
The next chapter of DeHoney’s will look much like the last one: the same craft, the same care, and the same Harvard Avenue home, with the convenience modern Tulsa expects. We are proud to be Tulsa’s dry cleaner since 1921, and we intend to be the cleaner Tulsa’s next generation trusts, too.
